It has transformed the town’s former prisons and medieval tower
into an international artistic and cultural escape!

Now dedicated to showcasing the works and creations of the world’s most talented artists, the Tour du Fantastique will feature a major exhibition devoted to a particular artist, collective or studio each year, as well as meetings, conferences, book signings, workshops and master classes with numerous artists throughout the year.
The fantastic has established itself as a major genre, embraced by every generation and on every continent. It brings together all forms of artistic expression, including literature, painting, cinema, animation, comics and video games.
As artist John Howe, co-founder of the Tour, points out:
“The notion of fantastic beings refers to creatures composed from thousands of years of human fears and aspirations, which amplify our qualities and defects, and are allegories. Fantastic beings are the generous hosts that allow the imagination to travel freely in these parallel worlds. It’s amazing how much we can have in common with things that don’t exist.”
Visitors will also have the exhilarating opportunity to meet and talk to John Howe in person, since the artist has chosen to set up his studio in the Tour du Fantastique!
