For John Howe, the Tour du Fantastique is unique in that it is built on “his land”, in Neuchâtel, the city he has called home for almost forty years.
John Howe is one of the founding members of the Tour du Fantastique, and even designed its logotype, thus endorsing this new international exhibition space in the most iconic of ways.
It’s only natural that the artist decided to set up his studio here, which visitors will be able to discover on the tour of exhibitions presented at the Tour du Fantastique.
When he’s not on location for a film shoot or a conference, John Howe will come to work here regularly, and visitors will have the opportunity to meet and chat with him. In the studio’s anteroom, visitors can also discover some of the books in his personal library, browse through the artist’s digitized sketchbooks and discover an exclusive interview in which he talks about his way of working.
In John Howe’s beloved works by Tolkien, towers are sometimes home to fearsome sorcerers and creatures, such as Saruman’s Tower of Isengard or Sauron’s lair at Barad-dûr.
This time, the Tour du Fantastique welcomes a true “artist-enchanter” who opens the doors to imaginary worlds…
